European Parliament of Enterprises 2018
On 10 October 2018, 736 entrepreneurs from 36 countries gathered in the hemiycle of the European Parliament to take part in the fifth edition of European Parliament of Enterprises™.
EUROCHAMBRES President, Christoph Leitl, stated on the Future of Europe: "Today’s event has demonstrated that business is open to the EU, but the EU must be open for business! As entrepreneurs, we want a solid single market, external strength, a stable economy and a skilled workforce. The EU is part of the solution to these challenges, not part of the problem, but it will only succeed if its policies reflect the needs of entrepreneurs."
Antonio Tajani, President of the EP declared: "We want free trade with equal rules and fair conditions. We need a Europe that is friendlier to companies and provides them with the necessary resources." He then underlined the value of the European Quality and the strategic importance of SMEs for European competitiveness to ensure healthy growth and jobs for young people.
Entrepreneurs from across Europe debated and voted in thematic sessions on skills, trade and the future of Europe in the presence of high-level institutional representatives, including European Parliament President Antonio Tajani; Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmström; Chief Brexit Negotiator, Michel Barnier; and the Principal Advisor to the Austrian Presidency of the EU, Andrä Rupprechter.
